SEATTLE - Seattle U volleyball has signed Anae Asuncion to its 2024 class, Head Coach Dan Behnke announced on Tuesday.

"Anae is a game changer," said Behnke. "She connects well with hitters, running a fast and efficient offense. Her defense and ability to attack on the second contact is what really sets her apart."

A 5'8 setter/opposite hitter, Asuncion will join Seattle U from Mililani High School in Mililani, Hawaii, where she earned two First Team All-League honors and Player of the Year All-West Division. The three-year varsity letter-winner posted two straight seasons of finishing in the top-two in assists in the state of Hawaii from 2022-24 and was a part of a Trojans' squad that won an OIA Girls Volleyball Championship.

Asuncion played club volleyball for Maunalani Volleyball Club, 808 Athletics Club, Aloha State Volleyball Club and mostly recently, Maunalani 808 Hui Volleyball Club, serving as the team captain on all four squads.

Asuncion comes from a volleyball family as her older sister, Cydni, played collegiate volleyball at LIU Brooklyn for four seasons. She plans to major in either psychology or education while at Seattle U.

Asuncion joins Grace Jones as the second member of the 2024 class.
