Women's Tennis Falls to UT Arlington

ARLINGTON, TX - Seattle U women's tennis was defeated by UT Arlington this Monday, April 9, with an overall score of 1-6. The loss brings the Redhawks to a conference record of 3-3 and an overall record of 8-8 on the season so far.

ARLINGTON, TX - Seattle U women's tennis was defeated by UT Arlington this Monday, April 9, with an overall score of 1-6. The loss brings the Redhawks to a conference record of 3-3 and an overall record of 8-8 on the season so far. 

In doubles play, Elena Kraleva and Jade Quintana fell to Francisca Vergara and Bruna Casasampere (5-7) in the top spot. Liliya Dimova and Yuna Kadowaki were then defeated by Tara Gorinsek and Ioana Dumitrescu (5-7), and Lola Tavcar and Lamija Avdic fell to Serina Reinertsen and Ana Paula Jimenez (5-7). 

In singles play, Lamija Avdic was the lone winner of her match, defeating Serina Reinertsen (4-6, 6-4, 10-2). Liliya Dimova fell to Ana Paula Jimenez (3-6, 5-7), and Yuna Kadowaki was defeated by Bruna Casasampere (1-6, 1-6). Lola Tavcar fell to Francisca Vergara (3-6, 2-6), and Anastasia Nikolova fell to Ioana Dumitrescu in a close match (6-2, 5-7, 6-10). Elena Kraleva was looking strong in the top singles spot against Tara Gorinsek, winning the first set 6-3, but had to retire during the match. 

The Redhawks will complete conference play with a home match against Utah Tech on Saturday, April 13.
