Women's Tennis Sweeps WAC Weekly Awards

ARLINGTON, TX - Announced on Tuesday, Seattle U women's tennis swept the WAC women's tennis of the week awards for the week ending Sunday, March 3. Lamija Avdic and Lola Tavcar were named the doubles players of the week once again, after receiving the award earlier this season for the week ending February 13. Junior Elena Kraleva was named the women's tennis singles player of the week after her impressive performances against Idaho and Portland State over the weekend.

ARLINGTON, TX - Announced on Tuesday, Seattle U women's tennis swept the WAC women's tennis of the week awards for the week ending Sunday, March 3. Lamija Avdic and Lola Tavcar were named the doubles players of the week once again, after receiving the award earlier this season for the week ending February 13. Junior Elena Kraleva was named the women's tennis singles player of the week after her impressive performances against Idaho and Portland State over the weekend. 

Avdic and Tavcar were undefeated over the weekend, beginning with their 6-4 win over Portland State's Elizabeth Strongina and Madison Egan. The duo was then victorious in a strong win over Idaho's Lena Beckx and Rachelle Starreveld with a score of 6-3. 

Elena Kraleva was 1-1 in her singles matches over the weekend after falling in a close match against Portland State's Elizabeth Strongina with scores of 5-7, 6-2, and 6-7 (5-7). Kraleva then came back strong in her defeat over Idaho's Selin Sepken (6-2, 6-3).
