Women's Tennis Defeats ACU

ABILENE, TX - Seattle U women's tennis came out on top in their dual match against Abilene Christian on Thursday, March 28 with an overall score fo 4-3. Their victory brings them to a 2-1 record in conference play and a 7-6 overall record on the season.

ABILENE, TX - Seattle U women's tennis came out on top in their dual match against Abilene Christian on Thursday, March 28 with an overall score of 4-3. The victory brings them to a 2-1 record in conference play and a 7-6 overall record on the season. 

The Redhawks began the match on a high note with another win from the duo of Elena Kraleva and Jade Quintana, who defeated Maria Cascos and Marsha Vrsalovic with a score of 6-1. Liliya Dimova and Yuna Kadowaki were then defeated in their match against Maryjoe Crisologo and Libby Blair (2-6). With the doubles point on the line, Lamija Avdic and Lola Tavcar then came through with a defeat in their match against Andrea Guerrero and Olivia Sears (6-4), sealing the doubles point for the Redhawks. 

In singles play, junior Elena Kraleva continued her notable season with a defeat over Olivia Sear (6-1, 6-4) and freshman Lamija Avdic had a strong win over Maryjoe Crisologo (6-0, 6-2). 

Junior Liliya Dimova fell to Marsha Vrsalovic (6-4, 6-3), Jade Quintana lost a close match to Maria Cascos (7-6, 1-6, 3-6), and Yuna Kadowaki was defeated by Andrea Guerrero (6-0, 6-3). To round out singles play, freshman Anastasia Nikolova defeated Libby Blair (6-1, 7-6), resulting in overall score of 4-3 in the Redhawks favor. 

The Redhawks will continue their trip to Texas with a match against Tarleton on Saturday, March 30 at 8:00 am PST.
