EUGENE, OR - Seattle U baseball lost a 10-inning thriller to Oregon, 4-5, Wednesday night in Oregon. After taking their first lead of the night in the top of the 10th, the Redhawks saw the Ducks rally back to win the game on an extra inning walk-off.
Derek Gellos gave the Redhawks the lead on a 3-run home run over the left-center wall in the top of the 10th inning. Prior to that hit, Seattle U was 0-7 with runners in scoring position on a night that saw them record 8 hits and leave 11 on.
Jarek Woodward went four innings in the start, giving up just one earned run and struck out five Ducks. Brady Liddle (0-3) was credited with the loss on the day, pitching the final 2 1/3 innings of the game while giving up four earned runs.
The loss drops the Redhawks to 7-17 on the season. They will look to even the series with Oregon tomorrow, March 28, in game two of the 4-game set. First pitch from PK Park is scheduled for 5:05pm PT and will be broadcast live on Pac-12 Insider.
