SEATTLE, WA - Seattle U women's tennis fell in a close match against Grand Canyon this Sunday, March 24 with an overall score of 3-4. The loss brings the Redhawks to an overall record of 6-6 on the season.

SEATTLE, WA - Seattle U women's tennis fell in a close match against Grand Canyon this Sunday, March 24 with an overall score of 3-4. The loss brings the Redhawks to an overall record of 6-6 on the season. 

The Redhawks were dominant in doubles play, beginning with another win from the duo of Lamija Avdic and Lola Tavcar, who defeated Iva Sepa and Elizaveta Morozova (6-1). Liliya Dimova and Yuna Kadowaki were also victorious in their match against Valeriia Krokhotina (6-4). To round out doubles play, Elena Kraleva and Jade Quintana defeated Natasha Puehse and Santa Strombacha (6-4).

In singles play, freshman Anastasia Nikolova fell to Valeriia Krokhotina (2-6, 2-6), and Yuna Kadowaki was defeated by Dania Deaifi (1-6, 3-6). Jade Quintana then fell  to Elizaveta Morozova (2-6, 3-6). Junior Elena Kraleva then fought back for the Redhawks, defeating Natasha Puehse (6-4, 6-3), a nationally ranked player at #114. Liliya Dimova then fell in her match against Iva Sepa (2-6, 5-7). To round out singles play, Lamija Avdic was victorious in her match against Santa Strombacha (6-4, 6-3), bringing the overall score to 3-4. Avdic and Kraleva's victories snapped an 11-0 winning streak by Grand Canyon's Puehse and Strombacha.

The Redhawks will continue their season with a trip to Texas to take on matches against Abilene Christian on March 28 and Tarleton on March 30.
