SEATTLE – Seattle University Athletics completed the winter term of the 2023-24 academic year with high academic marks as Redhawk student athletes recorded a collective 3.419 GPA.
This marks the 13th consecutive term that the collective student athlete population has recorded above a 3.30 GPA. 189 student athletes (61%) made the Dean's List (3.5+), tying the second highest percentage of student athletes to earn the honor in the past four years. Eighty-seven Redhawks made the President's List with a 3.9 or higher GPA.
Women's tennis led the way this quarter with a 3.824 GPA, followed closely by women's soccer which finished with a 3.651. Softball (3.608), women's golf (3.561) and women's cross country (3.548) rounded out the top five. Volleyball (3.516) joined the others in the top-5 to make it six teams to finish with a 3.5 or better.
Women's basketball (3.491), men's tennis (3.478), men's golf (3.420), women's track & field (3.411), men's basketball (3.409), and women's rowing (3.408) all finished with a 3.4 or higher average in the term.
Men's cross country (3.378), men's soccer (3.362), women's swimming (3.341), men's swimming (3.327) and baseball (3.216) gave Seattle U 17 teams over the 3.2 mark.
A total of 53 Redhawks earned a perfect 4.0 GPA for the quarter, while 61% of the student athletes recorded a GPA between a 3.5-4.0.
