Men's Tennis Concludes Weekend Trip to Idaho

LEWISTON, ID - Seattle U men's tennis completed a weekend trip to Idaho with matches against Idaho on Saturday, March 9 and Idaho State on Sunday, March 10. The Redhawks were 0-2 over the weekend, being defeated by Idaho 5-2 and Idaho State 4-0.

LEWISTON, ID - Seattle U men's tennis completed a weekend trip to Idaho with matches against Idaho on Saturday, March 9 and Idaho State on Sunday, March 10. The Redhawks were 0-2 over the weekend, being defeated by Idaho 5-2 and Idaho State 4-0. 

Idaho (March 9):

In doubles play, Veselin Kiselkov and Yu-Han Hsieh were defeated by Alejandra Salvador and Mario Duron (2-6). The duo of Jun Sasagawa and Filip Stipic were victorious in their match over Alex Asanov Sebastian Medica (6-3). Julian Worn and Michael Frank then fell in their match against Matteo Masala and Yu-Shun Lai (3-6), earning the Vandals the doubles point. 

In singles play, Filip Stipic and Dario Ristovski were victorious in their matches, earning the Redhawks' two points. Stipic fought to win a close match against Taiyo Kurata (4-6, 6-2, 6-4), and Ristovski was victorious in an even closer match against Yu-Shun Lai (75-6, 3-6, 14-12). Jun Sasagawa fell in his match against Francisco Gay (6-2, 6-2), and Michael Frank was defeated by Mario Duron (4-6, 2-6). Veselin Kiselkov was defeated by Sebastian Medica (4-6, 72-6), and Julian Worn fell in a close match against Matteo Masala (7-5, 3-6, 3-6), resulting in an overall score of 2-5. 

Idaho State (March 10):

In doubles play, Filip Stipic and Jun Sasagawa paired up to take on Valentino De Pellegrin and Victor Sklenka, dropping the match with a score of 3-6. Michael Frank and Julian Worn then took on the duo of Andreas Kramer and Wikus Robbertse, and were defeated (4-6), earning the Bengals the doubles point. 

In singles play, Jun Sasagawa was defeated by Valentino De Pellegrin (2-6, 0-6), and Julian Worn fell to Andreas Kramer (2-6, 2-6). Lastly, Veselin Kiselkov fell in his match against Patrick Kristensen (2-6, 2-6), resulting in an overall score of 0-4. 

The Redhawks will continue their spring season with a trip to California to take on Santa Clara on March 16 and Sacramento State on March 17.
