TOURNAMENT PREVIEW: Women's Golf at Puerto Rico Classic

HUMACAO, P.R. – Seattle U women's golf marks the third tournament of the 2024 spring season this week, traveling to Humacao, Puerto Rico, for the Puerto Rico Classic, hosted by Ball State. The three-day, 54-hole event will begin on Tuesday will play taking place at the Palmas Del Mar Flamboyan Course on the 6,026 yards course with a par of 72. Tuesday's and Wednesday's round will begin at 7:30 a.m. eastern standard time, while Thursday's start time will be 7 a.m. eastern standard time.

The Redhawks will be competing against golfers from California Baptist, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia State, Little Rock, Loyola Chicago, Northern Kentucky, South Dakota, UNCG, Western Carolina, Wofford College and the hosts, Ball State. Seattle U will send Rivekka Jumagulova, Tsara Ralamboarison, Shayna Lu, Aaryanna Morris and Annika Cruz

Aaryanna Morris was named WAC Co-Golfer of the Week, for the tournament week ending on Wednesday, Feb. 28., after her performance at the Grand Canyon Invitational. The sophomore set a new program record after posting the lowest 54 hole total by one golfer (207) as she tied for third place overall at nine-under. Morris was phenomenal in the second round on Monday afternoon, finishing with a single round total of seven-under 65 which ranks second all-time in lowest single round score and round score versus par. Morris also led the field in made birdies (17). This was her first career WAC weekly award.
