Morris Sets Program Records in Third Overall Finish

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Aaryanna Morris of Seattle U women's golf wrapped up a historic performance at the Grand Canyon Lopes Invitational on Wednesday afternoon, setting a new program record for lowest 54 hole total by one golfer (207) which secured her spot in a tie for third at nine-under. The two-day, 54-hole event took place at GCU Golf Course with a par of 72 and yardage of 6,155 on day one and 6,126 for day two.

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Aaryanna Morris of Seattle U women's golf wrapped up a historic performance at the Grand Canyon Lopes Invitational on Wednesday afternoon, setting a new program record for lowest 54 hole total by one golfer (207) which secured her spot in a tie for third at nine-under. The two-day, 54-hole event took place at GCU Golf Course with a par of 72 and yardage of 6,155 on day one and 6,126 for day two.

Morris was phenomenal in the second round on Monday afternoon, finishing with a single round total of seven-under 65 which ranks second all-time in lowest single round score and round score versus par. Morris also led the field in made birdies (17). 

Seattle U finished the event at four-under 860 for seventh place out of 21 teams. The Redhawks second round of 281 was the second best of that round and fifth best of the entire event. 

Rivekka Jumagulova also finished inside the top-15 overall, taking 12th place at four-under 212 (71-69-72). Jumagulova tied for fourth overall in made pars (40) and tied for second in fewest amounts of bogeys (five). 

Tsara Ralamboarison (72-74-72) tied for third in the field in made eagles or better, while Azumi Arai (78-73-74) tied for eighth overall in made pars (39) and Shayna Lu (78-77-72) improved each round. 

Seattle U looks forward to ending the Puerto Rico Classic next week, heading to Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, from March 5-7.
