PHOENIX, Ariz. – Seattle U women's golf heads down south to continue the 2024 spring season, traveling to Phoenix for the GCU Lopes Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole event is scheduled to open on Tuesday with play taking place at GCU Golf Course with a par of 72 and yardage of 6,155 for day one and 6,126 for day two. Both days will feature shotgun starts, beginning at 7 a.m. pacific time.
The Redhawks will be competing against golfers from Oral Roberts, Idaho, Tarleton, Southern Utah, Houston Christian, Northern Colorado, Northern Arizona, Seton Hall, Long Beach State, Montana State, UC Riverside, North Dakota, Eastern Washington, Marshall, New Mexico State, UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton, UTEP, North Dakota State and the hosts, Grand Canyon. Seattle U will send Rivekka Jumagulova, Tsara Ralamboarison, Shayna Lu, Aaryanna Morris and Azumi Arai.
This will be the eighth straight season where the Redhawks compete in the Grand Canyon Invitational. Las season, Seattle U claimed fifth place out of 17 teams, with both Shay Lu and Aaryanna Morris finishing inside the top-20. SU has historically performed very well at this tournament as of late, finishing in the top-five six out of the last seven times.
