SEATTLE, WA - Seattle U women's tennis competed against Washington this Wednesday, February 21 at the Nordstrom Tennis Center. The Redhawks dropped the match with an overall score of 0-7, bringing their record to 4-4 on the season.
In doubles play, Lamija Avdic and Lola Tavcar fell to the duo of Melissa Sakar and Catherine Gagnon (4-6). Liliya Dimova and Yuna Kadowaki had a competitive match against Sarah Maude-Fortin and Erika Matsuda, but were ultimately defeated (72-6) earning the Huskies the doubles point.
In singles play, Jade Quintana fell to Melissa Sakar (0-6, 0-6) and Elena Kraleva was defeated by Erika Matsuda (1-6, 1-6). Freshman Anastasia Nikolova dropped her match against Sarah Maude-Fortin (4-6, 1-6), and Liliya Dimova was defeated by Astrid Olsen (2-6, 4-6). Freshman Lamija Avdic had a competitive match against Alexia Jacobs, winning the first set 6-4 but losing the second with a score of 2-6. Avdic eventually dropped the match by losing the third set 10-6. To complete competition, Yuna Kadowaki was defeated by Catherine Gagnon (4-6, 5-7).
The Redhawks will continue competition with a match against Portland State on March 1 at 11:00 am PST in Portland, Oregon.
