SEATTLE - Seattle U women's basketball (1-18, 1-9 WAC) began this week action at home against Grand Canyon, falling, 40-53, on Thursday evening. The Western Athletic Contest took place at the Redhawk Center on the campus of Seattle U in Seattle.

Makayla Moore finished with a team-high 11 points, while Noemie Bariteau chipped in 10 points. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
Seattle U started off slowly in this one, entering the second quarter down six points before outscoring GCU, 14-8, to make it tied at the halftime break. 

The Redhawks held Grand Canyon scoreless for six minutes from the end of the first quarter to the media timeout in the second quarter, taking a three point lead on a Bariteau three. On the final possession of the half, Bariteau knocked down this difficult layup to tie it up at 21.

The Lopes went on to outscore the Redhawks, 32-19, in the second half to claim the victory.
