DAVIS, CA - Seattle U baseball dropped their series finale with UC Davis, 4-8, Sunday morning in California. After racing out to a 4-0 lead, the Redhawks were on the wrong end of an 8-run streak by the Aggies that saw them drop the series.

"Very impressive first start of the season for Luke Alwood," said head coach Donny Harrel. "We got caught on giving up big innings in our losses and we did not extend the 4-0 lead and we need to take care of a lead late in the game. This is what the preseason is for, to see where you need to make adjustments and hope to play a more complete game tomorrow."

In Alwood's first start of the season, the sophomore went five innings while giving up no hits and striking out a career-high seven batters. He was credited with a no-decision after coming out of the game with the 4-run lead.

Offensively the Redhawks were led by Jackson Reed. He went 1-of-2 with two RBI, two walks, and a run scored that was the result of a stolen base. Cole Kleckner kept his hot start to the season going by adding two more hits to his tally, while freshman Jake Wagoner recorded his first collegiate hit.

Seattle U will look to bounce back as they are right back in action tomorrow, February 19, when they face Pacific in Stockton, CA. First pitch between the Redhawks and Tigers is scheduled for 11am PT and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
