SEATTLE, WA - Seattle U track and field continued their indoor season at the UW Invitational on Friday, January 26 and Saturday January 27. The meet featured impressive performances from the Redhawks, including a new school record for sophomore Miguel Rosario III.
Rosario has continued his extraordinary performances by beating his own school record of 6.80 in the men's 60 meter dash that was set last February with a time of 6.69 this Saturday. Rosario now leads the WAC in the 60 meter dash with a solid margin over Grand Canyon's Erin Brown (6.74).
"Incredible performance for Miguel this weekend in the sixty meter dash" says head coach, Kelly Sullivan. "Really proud of him and coach Tony Monroe and the work they are putting together. A time of 6.69 as a true sophomore truly indicates how far he's coming. We also had a number of other personal bests and top ten performances in a variety of events, it's a been a great start for the indoor season as we are at the half way point." he continues.
TOP 10 PERFORMANCES:
- Alex Franklin: Fourth place record for the men's mile run with time of 4:13.01.
-Yonas Sauers: Tenth place record for the men's mile run with time of 4:16.30.
-Lilianne Hargreaves: Third place in school records for the women's mile run with time of 4:56.73.
-Manthita Wague: Sixth place in school records for women's triple jump with mark of 11.20 meters.
The Redhawks had a total of twelve personal best records over both days of the meet. This brings them to a total of twenty personal bests set in the indoor season so far.
The team will return to the Dempsey Indoor Center and continue their indoor season on February 9 and 10 for the Husky Classic.
