SEATTLE, WA - Seattle U men's soccer has released their 2023 season schedule, as announced by head coach Nate Daligcon. The Redhawks will host nine matches at Championship Field, while an 8-match conference slate is set for Western Athletic Conference play.
"The players and staff are very excited for the upcoming season," said Daligcon. "We have a challenging schedule playing five of our first nine games against teams that competed in the NCAA tournament in 2022."
After a pair of exhibition games on the road, the Redhawks kickoff their non-conference schedule at home vs San Diego on Thursday, Aug. 24. Along with Portland (exhibition) and San Diego, Seattle U will also face South Florida (8/27), Denver (9/18), and cross-town rival Washington (9/21) all of which made the 2022 NCAA tournament.
Those matches, excluding the Portland match, will all be played at home. They will also host another Pacific Northwest foe in Oregon State on Thursday, Sep. 7.
Conference play will begin at home as well, when the Wolverines of Utah Valley (9/28) pay a visit. That will be followed by last season's regular-season champions, Air Force, making the trip to Championship Field on Sunday, Oct. 1. The Redhawks will hit the road for the first time in conference play as they head to Phoenix and Edinburg to battle Grand Canyon (10/5) and UTRGV (10/12). Winners of last year's conference tournament, California Baptist, will come to town on Saturday, Oct. 15.
The 2023 conference tournament will be hosted by UNLV in Las Vegas, starting Nov. 5.
