SEATTLE – For a second consecutive term, all 18 Seattle University athletics teams posted cumulative grade point averages of 3.0 or higher, while the student athlete average for winter quarter 2023 was 3.387.

SEATTLE – For a second consecutive term, all 18 Seattle University athletics teams posted cumulative grade point averages of 3.0 or higher, while the student athlete average for winter quarter 2023 was 3.387.

This marks the 12th consecutive term that the collective student athlete population has recorded above a 3.30 GPA. Out of 300 total student athletes, just over 80% earned a 3.0 term GPA or higher, including 171 student athletes (57%) who made the Dean's List (3.5+) and 73 (14%) who made the President's List with a 3.9 or higher GPA. Forty-two students tallied a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Women's tennis led the way for a second consecutive quarter with a 3.821 GPA, followed closely by men's tennis who finished with a 3.806 GPA. Women's golf earned a stellar 3.732 GPA, while volleyball (3.576), women's cross country (3.553) and softball (3.543) rounded out the top five this winter.

Six additional programs earned team GPA's over 3.3 including women's track & field (3.484), men's soccer (3.458), women's soccer (3.386), men's golf (3.378), women's swimming (3.350) and baseball (3.345).

men's cross country (3.297), Men's basketball (3.282), women's rowing (3.276) women's basketball (3.235), men's track & field (3.145) and men's swimming (3.056) also performed well in the winter quarter.
