SEATTLE - Seattle U women's basketball has inked Sydnie Rodriguez to its 2024 class, Head Coach Skyler Young announced Monday.

"We are thrilled to have a winner like Sydnie join our Redhawk family," said Young. "Sydnie brings a high basketball IQ with an array of skills that will allow her to score at all three levels and play at multiple positions. Syd embodies our team motto of passion, hustle and determination that will allow her to make an immediate impact from day one."

Currently entering her senior season at Owyhee High School in Meridian, Idaho, Rodriguez has been a starter since her freshman season. The combo guard has raked in the accomplishments throughout high school, earning All-League honorable mention her freshman year as well as All-League First Team and All-State Second Team in both her sophomore and junior year. The Boise, Idaho, native has also been named to the All-Academic Team in all of her three seasons. 

Rodriguez is currently a member of the Utah prospects club basketball team who finished third place overall at Nationals this past year. She plans to major in Kinesiology while at Seattle U in hopes of pursing a career in physical therapy.
