QUICK HITS:
NEW LOOK ON THE BENCH
The 2023-24 Redhawks will feature a complete new look behind the bench, lead by the sixth women's basketball coach in program history, Skyler Young. Young's first staff at the helm of the Redhawks features Michael Brooks, Rachel Swartz, GeAnna Luaulu-Summers and Makala Roper.
Brooks previously coached in collegiate athletics at Bradley University, serving as head coach from 2012-16 with one season as an assistant coach (2011-12), while Swartz returned to the Pacific Northwest after spending last season at Saint Mary's and Luaulu-Summers makes the move to Seattle from University of Oregon where she served as the Ducks' director of creativity and student athlete support. Coach Young retains one familiar face in Roper as she will mark her fourth season as a member of Seattle U.
BACK TO ACTION
Seattle U returns 75% of their scoring from last season, including Peyton Howard (10.3) and Irena Korolenko (8.9). The Redhawks return 11 overall athletes with eight of them playing in at least 25 contests and six of them making at least five starts in 2022-23.
Aannah Interrante and Sareya Hicks are the two newcomers to the Seattle U program. Interrante comes to Seattle U after spending four seasons at Bradley (2018-22), winning a Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Championship in 2020-21. Hicks joins the Seattle U roster after serving as the team manager in 2022-23, previously playing four year at Great Falls Central Catholic High School in Great Falls, Montana.
