SPOKANE, WA-- Seattle U men's tennis finished play at their second tournament of the season, the Gonzaga Invite on Sunday, November 6. The tournament began on Friday, November 3rd and was hosted by Gonzaga University.
In doubles play, Filip Stipic and Yu Han Hsieh paired up in the white draw against Eastern Washington's Tyler Dalos and Thomas Brady, defeating them with a score of 8:3 in the quarterfinals. Stipic and Hsieh then moved onto the semifinals, where they defeated Portland's Nikola Keremedchiev and Cade Fernando with a score of 8:6. Stipic and Hsieh made it to the final, where they lost a close match to Gonzaga's Matthew Hollingworth and Tom Dunlop with a score of 6:8.
In the blue draw, transfer Jun Sasagawa and junior Veselin Kiselkov paired up in the quarterfinals, defeating Gonzaga's Pablo Gomez Galvan and Leon Roider with a score of 8:6. Kiselkov and Sasagawa were then defeated by Portland's Oscar Brown and Stefan Skobelev with a score of 1:8 in the semifinals. Michael Frank and Julian Worn also competed in the blue draw, defeating Eastern Washington's Tyler Waddock and Arshjot Bhatti with a score of 8:7. Worn and Frank then lost a close match in the semifinals to Portland's Luka Vukovic and Nikolas Tvedt with a score of 7:8.
Oliver Hall and Jayden Harrison paired up in the red draw, defeating Montana's Chris Zhang and Josh Watkins with a score of 8:6 in round 3. Hall and Harrison were then defeated by Idaho's Taiyo Kurata and Yu-shun Lai with a score of 2:8 in round 2.

Stipic was defeated by Idaho's Taiyo Kurata with scores of 6:4 and 6:2, while Kiselkov fell to Idaho's Gay Francisco with scores of 1:6 and 0:6 in the round of 16. In the blue draw consolation, Stipic lost a close match to Montana State's Dario Ciobotaru with scores of 6:2, 5:7 and tie-breaking score of 7:10 in the quarterfinals qualifiers. Kiselkov also competed in the consolation quarterfinals qualifiers, falling to Montana's Baltazar Wiger-Nordas with scores of 4:6 and 5:7. Senior Julian Worn also competed in the blue draw consolation quarterfinals qualifiers, defeating Eastern Washington's Caden Kammerer with a score of 6:3.
In the white draw east, Michael Frank competed against Gonzaga's Leon Roider and was defeated with scores of 6:7 and 2:6 in the round of 16. Yu Han Hsieh and Jun Sasagawa also competed in the white draw east round of 16, Hsieh falling to Portland's Nikola Keremedchiev with scores of 1:6 and 4:6. Sasagawa lost a close match to Idaho's Matteo Masala with scores of 6:2, 3:6, and 6:7.

Dario Ristovski had a bye in the round of 16 and competed in the quarterfinals, competing against Gonzaga's Gus Krauel, losing the match with scores of 5:7 and 4:6.
In the red draw west, Jayden Harrison had a bye in the quarterfinals and defeated Montana's Josh Watkins with scores of 6:2 and 6:4.
The Redhawks will be traveling to Newberg, Oregon to compete in their last tournament of the fall season on November 10 and 11 at the George Fox tournament.
