EXHIBITION PREVIEW: WBB Hosts Evergreen State

SEATTLE - Seattle U women's basketball will open play on the 2023-24 season this Thursday evening, facing off against NAIA opponent, Evergreen State. The contest, which is free to the public, will tip off at 6 p.m. in the Redhawk Center. No stream or live stats will be available.

NEWS AND NOTES

  • This marks the second straight season that the Redhawks open with an exhibition contest, defeating Saint Martin's last season, 58-50, behind Peyton Howard's 21 points. 
  • The Redhawks return 75% of their scoring from last season, including Peyton Howard (10.3) and Irena Korolenko (8.9). 
  • Seattle U welcomes two newcomers to the roster in Aannah Interrante and Sareya Hicks.
  • The 2023-24 Redhawks will feature a complete new look behind the bench, lead by the sixth women's basketball coach in program history, Skyler Young. Young's staff features assistant coaches Michael Brooks, Rachel Swartz, GeAnna Luaulu-Summers and Makala Roper.
