ARLINGTON, TX - Yonas Sauers has been named the Ticketsmarter Western Athletic Conference's Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the week ending on October 14th, after finishing in first place out of 263 total runners at the George Oja Invitational with a time of 24:03.7 over the weekend.
"Very well deserved, Yonas has been working hard" says head coach Kelly Sullivan, "He is very diligent in all aspects. Everyone is thrilled for him, he's a great teammate and appreciated a lot" he continues.
Sauers has been an amazing addition to the team this year after transferring to Seattle U From Winthrop University, breaking a school record for the men's 8k with his time of 23:52.6 in just his second race with the Redhawks. Yonas has been the first Redhawk to cross the finish line at all three meets this year, making him a vital part of the men's teams placement at each race.
