SEATTLE - Seattle University softball has added talented transfer Kjirstin Hopfer to its 2024 roster, Head Coach Geoff Hirai announced Monday.

"We love being able to bring back great local talent," said Hirai. "KJ is a very versatile player that brings a lot of great energy to our program."

Hopfer returns to the Pacific Northwest after spending two years at University of San Diego, appearing in 29 games with 24 starts. The Olympia, Wash., native recorded multi-hit games against Portland State and South Dakota and logged a career-high five putouts against Cal Poly in 2023. A graduate of Ocosta High School, Hopfer was a three-year varsity letter recipient in baseball, earning Second Team All-League honors in her junior and senior season.

The Redhawks enjoyed another successful season under Hirai in 2023, winning 30 or more games for the fifth straight year and making an appearance in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Tournament Title game.

Hopfer joins transfers Taylor Fitch and Nicola Simpson as well as incoming freshman Sophia Kissling, Avari Morris, Mikee Morris, Karen Spadafora and Berkley Vance as new additions to the Seattle U roster.
