SEATTLE – For a third consecutive term, all 18 Seattle University athletics teams posted cumulative grade point averages of 3.0 or higher, while the student athlete average for third and final quarter of the 2022-23 academic year was a 3.374. The Redhawks' cumulative GPA for the entire academic year came in at 3.387.

SEATTLE – For a third consecutive term, all 18 Seattle University athletics teams posted cumulative grade point averages of 3.0 or higher, while the student athlete average for third and final quarter of the 2022-23 academic year was a 3.374. The Redhawks' cumulative GPA for the entire academic year came in at 3.387.

This marks the 13th consecutive term that the collective student athlete population has recorded above a 3.30 GPA. Out of 293 total student athletes, just over 81% earned a 3.0 term GPA or higher, including 171 student athletes (58%) who made the Dean's List (3.5+) and 68 (23%) who made the President's List with a 3.9 or higher GPA. Thirty-nine students tallied a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Men's tennis earned the highest marks in the spring quarter, posting an impressive team GPA of 3.928. Men's basketball followed with the second highest team GPA at 3.709, while softball (3.686), women's golf (3.647) and men's soccer (3.545) rounded out the top five this spring. 

In addition to the strong final quarter performance, each of the 18 Redhawk squads posted above a 3.0 cumulative GPA for the entire academic year, including 14 teams over a 3.3 and five over a 3.5.

Leading teams for the full 2022-23 year were men's tennis (3.752), women's golf (3.677), women's tennis (3.612), softball (3.585) and volleyball (3.507).
