SEATTLE – More than 325 members of the Seattle University community gathered Saturday night at Victory Hall, the new partnership venue for the Seattle Mariners, to celebrate Redhawk athletics at the 10th Annual Red Tie Celebration.
The event's theme of building community through sport resonated throughout the night as guests enjoyed prizes, games and giveaways, feature stories from student athletes and special guests, remarks from Director of Athletics Shaney Fink and Seattle University President Eduardo Peñalver, live and silent auctions and more.
"The 10th Annual Red Tie Celebration was a night filled with joy and laughter," Fink said. "We are grateful for the generosity and unwavering support of the Seattle University community that fuels our mission to provide a transformative student athlete experience."
Signature auction items included trips to Mexico, Tuscany and Palm Spring, coffee tasting with President Peñalver, and the chance to throw out the first pitch at a Mariners' game.
More than $415K was raised in support of Seattle University's 350 student athletes. Attendance at the event also helped Seattle U Athletics eclipse a previous record of 2,200 engaged donors for the 2022-23 year.
