SEATTLE, Wash. - Seattle U men's tennis signs Jason Jun Sasagawa to the 2023 recruiting class, announces Head Coach Kristina Hollander.

"Jason comes from a strong program and has a solid tennis background" said Head Coach Kristina Hollander "I'm confident that he will contribute to the growth of our men's tennis team. We are all very excited to welcome him!"

Sasagawa joins the Redhawks as a grad transfer from Tennessee Tech Cookeville, where he played from 2020-2023. While with TTU, Sasagawa was ranked 79th on the ITA Doubles Nationals Ranking. Additionally, he was a critical part of the Golden Eagles' OVC regular season championship teams in 2020 and 2021, as well as their OVC 2021 and 2022 conference championship teams.

A native of Sydney, NSW, Australia, Sasagawa played his high school career with Newington College in Stanmore, NSW. While at Newington, Sasagawa was a four year varsity starter and amassed a perfect 52-0 record through his whole high school career. He was selected to the All Australian Team in 2018 as well as the All NSW team.

Sasagawa will be majoring in Sports and Entertainment Management at Seattle. Outside of the court, he is a world ranked Rubik's Cuber. He is the son of Eri Sasagawa and Rick Sargeant, and has a sister, Emma Sargeant.
