LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Seattle U baseball was denied the series win in game two, falling to New Mexico State, 4-6, Saturday afternoon. The Redhawk offense was again powered by the long ball but were held scoreless for the final three innings.

"Tough loss today as we had plenty of opportunities in getting guys on," head coach Donny Harrel said post game. "Had some critical base running mistakes that took us away from extending innings."

Trailing 0-1 heading into the 3rd, Derek Gellos sent a ball that landed just short of clearing the fence, allowing to Cole Kleckner to score the first run. The Aggies would respond with a three spot in the 5th, before the Redhawks answered with three of their own in the 6th.

Matt Boissoneault put a charge into his 11th home run of the season before Trevor Antonson launched a 2-run homer over the scoreboard in left-center to make it a one run deficit.

Those would be the final runs produced by the Redhawks, as the Aggies added an insurance tally in the 7th on their way to evening the series.

Nestor German was credited with the loss on the day, going six innings and giving up five earned runs. He did strike out eight Aggies, to move himself into a top-10 spot in career strikeouts in program history.

"German battled and Hogan kept us in the game," Harrel added. "We couldn't produce the big hit and got to find a way to win the series tomorrow."

The loss drops the Redhawks to 16-27 on the season and 12-11 in conference. They will go for the series win tomorrow, with Blake Smith scheduled to make the start. First pitch will come at 11am PT.
