ST. GEORGE, Utah - Seattle U softball concluded its road trip to St. George, Utah, on Saturday afternoon, falling to Utah Tech by a scoreline of 0-2. The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) contest took place at Karl Brooks Field on the campus of Utah Tech. The Redhawks move to a record of 24-14 overall with a WAC record of 5-7.
The Redhawks did their best to get some momentum going in the top of the seventh after Katie Walling smashed a ball to deep right center field but they were unable to score her. Jocelynn De La Cruz finished as the Redhawks best hitter in this game, going 2-for-3 with two singles. Kalyn Hill logged the best overall weekend at the plate, hitting 4-for-9 with two RBIs.
Naomi Chaidez got the start for SU, allowing just one earned run in three solid innings of work. Stefanie Madrigal relieved her in the fourth inning, pitching to a similar stat line with just one earned run allowed in three innings. The duo allowed just five hits to the Trailblazers the entire contest.
