PHOENIX, AZ. - Seattle U put on several rallies in the desert but eventually fell to Arizona State, 6-11, Tuesday night in Arizona. The closest the Redhawks got was within two as they kicked off their 4-game road trip with a tough loss vs the Sun Devils.
Despite the loss, the Redhawk offense continued to show off. Grant Heiser was a standout, going 4-for-5 with three doubles as the designated hitter. He also brought home two of Seattle U's six runs, including a run in the top of the ninth. Even with Heiser being the only player with a multi-hit game, Jackson Lind, Matt Boissoneault and Ryne Hays were also big contributors, with each recording an RBI.
Six different Redhawk pitchers made appearances on the night. Kian Hogan, making his eighth 4th start of the season, went two innings while being credited with the loss.
Seattle U now drops to 7-18 on the season and will now turn their attention to a 3-game conference series at Grand Canyon starting on Thursday, April 6, in Phoenix. The Lopes were the preseason conference favorite in the Western Athletic Conference, setting up a big series in the standings.
