SEATTLE - Seattle U softball finished its nonconference schedule on Wednesday evening, dropping a matchup with Washington, 0-3. The contest took place at Logan Field on the campus of Seattle U. The Redhawks move to 27-18 overall after today's game.
The Redhawks got a great effort from their pitching staff in this one, allowing just three runs and stranding eight Huskies. Stefanie Madrigal got the start and pitched well, giving up just four hits. After allowing a run in the opening inning, Madrigal kept the Huskies off the board in the second and third.
Grace Luderer came in for Madrigal in the fourth, putting in three innings of good work. Luderer retired six of the first eight batters she faced and struck out Washington's Johnson on a fastball that she chased.
