SEATTLE, WA - Seattle U baseball came up just short in their battle with crosstown rivals Washington, falling to the Huskies, 4-6, Tuesday night on Montlake. Home runs were the theme of the night, as both teams hit a pair.
Jackson Reed hit his fifth home run of the season in the top of the 5th, putting the Redhawks on the board. Matt Boissoneault would then get ahold of one in the 8th, tying the game up at four.
For Boissoneault, it was his 7th of the season. His career total now climbs to 19, just one shy of tying Dalton Hurd for most all-time in a Redhawk uniform.
The Huskies would respond to the big top of the 8th by SU with a pair of solo home runs of their own half, as they knocked off the Redhawks in their first of three meetings.
The Redhawks drop to 13-24 on the season after the loss, and now refocus their attention to conference play as they host Tarleton for a 3-game series this weekend.
