NACOGDOCHES, Tex. - Seattle U softball opened its first road series of Western Athletic Conference (WAC) play on Friday evening, scoring eight runs in the seventh to seal an 11-9 comeback victory. Five Redhawks recorded multi-hit games with Tai Wilson tying Seattle U's single game hits record for the second time this season at four. The contest took place at SFA Softball Field on the campus of Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas.
After both Madison Kahwaty and Wilson reached to open the inning, Jocelynn De La Cruz crushed a ball into left field to get the rally started. Sydney Frankenberger immediately followed with a single up the middle before Kalyn Hill knocked two more in on an RBI single to left center. Two batters later, Lily Garcia ripped a single to left center to make it a two run game, while Ava Sin reached on an error by the second baseman to bring SU within one. Olivia Viggiano's third hit of the night tied the game at nine, while Wilson laid down a perfectly placed bunt on the first base line to cap off the comeback. Kahwaty reached on a fielder's choice after she beat out a throw by the shortstop to add an insurance run.
