Los Angeles, Calif. - Seattle U baseball couldn't hold onto their lead as they fell to Southern California, 4-9, Wednesday night in LA.
The Redhawks found themselves trailing after a 2-run first inning from the Trojans, but quickly battled their way back to take their own lead.
USC would throw a wild pitch in the top of the 4th inning that allowed for Matt Boissoneault to score from third on the play. That was followed by a Michael Tsoukalas double down the right field line that brought home Cameron Dayton to tie the ballgame up.
Seattle U would take the lead in the top of the 6th when Grant Heiser sent a ball over the left field wall on the first pitch of the inning, his team leading 3rd homerun of the season, as the Redhawks now led 3-2. The Trojans would quickly respond with a run in the bottom half of the frame and then take the lead with six runs over the next two innings to extend it to a 3-9 game.
Seattle U would get a run back in their final at bat when Hudson Shupe scored on a fielder's choice, but that would be the end of the rally as the Redhawks fell to the Trojans.
Next up will be a conference series with California Baptist starting on Friday, March 24, in Riverside, Calif. The 3-game series will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
