Huntsville, TX - Seattle U baseball wasn't able to snag game three of the series with Sam Houston, falling to the Bearkats, 4-5, Sunday morning in Texas. The Redhawks led almost the entire length of the ballgame, but a Bearkat rally in the ninth dropped to the Redhawks to a series sweep.

"Tough one today," said head coach Donny Harrel. "We were three outs away and just could not finish. We made some key mistakes that ended up costing us, so we need to do more things right throughout the entire game so we can learn how to win."

The Redhawks built up their lead with a 3-run performance in the top of the second. Jackson Lind hit a triple to left center that drove in Michael Tsoukalas and Matt Boissoneault before Colin Curry laid down a sac bunt that scored Lind from third. After Sam Houston got one back in the bottom of the frame, the Seattle U pushed their lead back to three when Boissoneault ripped a single into right field that Trevor Antonson to tally another Redhawk run.

SU would hold onto that lead for much of that ballgame, but that lead narrowed in the 4th when Sam Houston hit a 2-run homerun to make it a 4-3 score line. It would remain a 1-run game heading into the ninth inning. The Redhawks couldn't pad their lead in the top half, and Sam Houston would load the bases in the bottom half before a walk tied the game up and a single in the next at bat walked it off.

The loss dropped the Redhawks to 2-11 on the season and now 0-3 in WAC play. They will return home for another conference matchup, this time with Utah Valley starting on Friday, March 17, at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue.
