Huntsville, TX - Seattle U baseball dropped game 2 of their series with Sam Houston, 2-12, in seven innings on Saturday. The loss gives the Redhawks back-to-back losses to open conference play.
"Very disappointed with how we played today," said head coach Donny Harrel. "We could not stop them from scoring and could not put together any long innings on offense."
Sam Houston scored early and often on their way to a 10-run rule win over the Redhawks in seven innings. Grant Heiser with a sac fly in the 4th and Kai Alberghini (1) with a solo HR in the 5th were the only two runs manufactured in the ballgame for Seattle U.
In his fourth start of the season, Nestor German (1-3) went 2 2/3 innings while giving up six earned runs. Cameron Dayton and Blake Leaverton would pitch the final 3 2/3 innings.
The Redhawks will look to snag the third and final game vs Sam Houston tomorrow, March 12. The starter is still to be determined for Seattle U with first pitch scheduled for 11am PT.
