Seattle U Falls to Grand Canyon

PHOENIX, Ariz. - Seattle U women's basketball finished its weekend road trip on Saturday, falling to Grand Canyon, 43-78. The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) matchup took place at the GCU Arena in Phoenix.

PHOENIX, Ariz. - Seattle U women's basketball finished its weekend road trip on Saturday, falling to Grand Canyon, 43-78. The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) matchup took place at the GCU Arena in Phoenix.

Grand Canyon came out of the gates quickly, jumping out to an 11-2 lead in the first five minutes. The Lopes lead 21-7 after one quarter and opened the second with scoring 14 of the first 19 to put the game out of reach.

The Lopes' Tiarra Brown led all scorers with 16 points on 6-for-10 from the field.

Sophomore Taliyah Clark led the way for the Redhawks, scoring 14 points on 5-for-12 from the field. Junior Irena Korolenko added nine of her own, while fellow junior Peyton Howard chipped in six.  

The Redhawks return home for their final two home games next week, beginning with Utah Tech on Thursday at 6 p.m.
