College Station, TX - Seattle U baseball dropped the series finale to Texas A&M, 2-14, Sunday morning in Texas. The loss completed the sweep for the Aggies, as a big 2nd inning doomed the Redhawks.
After getting no hits and no runs off the Redhawks in the bottom of the 1st, Texas A&M would come back in the 2nd with three hits and six runs. Seattle U was able to get out of the inning with the bases loaded when freshman Kaden Alberghini made his collegiate debut in relief, pitching his way out of the jam.
The Redhawks would get a run back in the following inning when Hudson Shupe knocked home Colin Curry from third. The Aggies erased that run in the bottom of the 4th, before Trevor Antonson, who went 3-4 on the day, hit an RBI single in the 5th to make it a 5-run game once again.
Those would be the only two runs the Redhawks would get on the day, as Texas A&M would tack on seven more runs over the 7th and 8th to 10-run rule the ballgame and send them to the series sweep.
Seattle U will look to bounce back next week when they travel to California to battle Long Beach State in a 3-game series starting on Friday.
