SEATTLE - Seattle U women's soccer has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2022 season. The Redhawks will have nine home matches at Championship Field.

Seattle U opens the season with a pair of exhibition matches, including the first home match of the season in a showdown with British Columbia on Tuesday, Aug 9. That will be followed by an exhibition match-up at Oregon State on Aug. 12.

A pair of home matches is how the Redhawks will open regular season play, as Air Force comes to town for Salute to Service Night at Championship Field on Aug. 18, followed by Fresno State for Kids Day on Saturday, Aug. 20.

A road trip to the Aloha State highlights the road non-conference schedule as the Redhawks will battle Hawaii on Aug. 25 and Hawaii Pacific just two days later in Honolulu. The team will return to the Emerald City and Championship Field on Sep. 1 as they face the Cougars of Washington State for Alumni Night. That will be followed by a trip across town to Montlake for another edition of the WAC/101 Club Cup vs. Washington on Sunday, Sep. 4.

"I am really excited about our fall schedule," said head coach Julie Woodward. "We have some very competitive non-conference games that will help to prepare us for our conference schedule."

The Redhawks will open Western Athletic Conference play with a four-game road trip, taking on Sam Houston in Huntsville, Tex., on Sep 16 followed by New Mexico State in Las Cruces, N.M., just two days later. A showdown with the defending WAC Champions, Grand Canyon, awaits in Phoenix, Ariz., on Sep. 30 before ending the trip at California Baptist on Oct. 2.

A three-game home stand awaits the Redhawks upon their return. Utah Valley (Oct. 8), Stephen F. Austin (Oct. 13) and UTRGV (Oct. 15) all make a trip to Seattle as conference play heats up. After a two-game swing through Texas, Seattle U will close out its conference and home schedule with matches vs. Utah Tech on Thursday, Oct. 27 for Special Olympics Day and against Southern Utah for Senior Day on Oct. 29.

"We are thrilled to play every team in the conference this year," Woodward added. "The competition keeps getting better and better and will help to prepare us for the conference tournament."

The 2022 WAC Tournament will return to the Redhawks' Championship Field for the first time since 2019. Day one of the tournament will be on Wednesday, Nov. 2 with the championship being held on Sunday, Nov 6.
