SEATTLE - The Seattle U Redhawks announced two additions to the 2022-23 roster today. Seattle U will welcome Kari Kyrkjebo and Julianna Walker to the Redhawks for this upcoming season, with both joining Seattle U as sophomores.

A native of Norway, Kyrkjebo comes to Seattle U with collegiate experience already, starting 16 games in 2020-21 as a freshman at UC Riverside. She has had an impressive career in Norway, playing with the U15, U16, and U18 National Teams before making her senior team debut recently. Kyrkjebo has played in Norway's highest professional league, where she averaged a double-double

"Kari has a great motor and will have an impact as a post or a forward," said Suzy Barcomb. "Her experience will be helpful for a young team like ours. She is committed to excel on the court and in the classroom as well."

A Washington native, Walker comes to Seattle U as a sophomore, having played one year at Syracuse. Before entering the college ranks, Walker earned Washington's Gatorade Player of the Year award as well as earning All-State twice and Nisqually League MVP three times. Walker ended her high school career with the third-most points in Washington high school history as well.

"We are thrilled Julianna decided to come home and be a member of our basketball program," said Barcomb. "She has such a high basketball IQ and a strong mental makeup. She can be a scoring point guard or a facilitator and gives us depth and experience at that position."
