BELLEVUE - Seattle U baseball dropped their one game matchup with British Columbia, 5-8, Tuesday afternoon at Bannerwood Park. After falling behind by five early, the Redhawks put on a late game rally that just fell short.

The Thunderbirds got on the board first with a five run top of the third, and added to their lead with one in the fifth and two in the seventh.

Seattle U finally broke through in the bottom of the seventh when a couple of wild pitches by the Thunderbirds allowed for Jackson Lind and Colin Curry to score. Gavin Rork would also score in the inning when Matt Boiseneault grounded out, pulling the Redhawks to within five.

After shutting down the UBC offense in the eighth, SU would add two more onto the board thanks to a 2-RBI single by Rork. That would be the last scoring play of the ballgame however, as the Redhawks would fall, 5-8.

It's a return to conference play this weekend when the Redhawks hit the road for a 3-game series with Sacramento State starting Thursday, April 14. Game 1 will have a first pitch time of 6:00 PM in California.
