SAN JOSE - Men's soccer dropped their regular season finale to San Jose State, 0-1, Friday night in California. The second half goal denies the Redhawks a top-2 seed in the WAC tournament next week.
After a scoreless first half, the Spartans netted the opener in the 64th minute of the second half. That would be the lone goal scored in the match, as the Spartans leaped over the Redhawks in the conference standings with the 1-0 win. The match was even outside of the scoreline, with both sides having 14 shots and Seattle U making one more save than San Jose State.
The Redhawks will end the regular season with a record of 6-9-1 and conference record of 5-4. They now prepare for the WAC tournament, hosted by California Baptist in Riverside, beginning on Nov. 9. Seattle U will now play on day one of the tournament, with exact matchup still to be determined.
