SEATTLE - Women's soccer dropped their WAC semifinals matchup with New Mexico State, 0-1, Friday night at Championship Field. The Aggies converted a late penalty to knock the Redhawks out of the conference tournament and end their 2022 season.

SEATTLE - Women's soccer dropped their WAC semifinals matchup with New Mexico State, 0-1, Friday night at Championship Field. The Aggies converted a late penalty to knock the Redhawks out of the conference tournament and end their 2022 season. 

THe match was scoreless through the first 80 minutes of action, but a foul in the box by the Redhawks led to the Aggies being awarded a penalty in the 85th minute. They would step to the spot and send a ball that just snuck under the cross bar to break the stalemate. Despite a late push by Seattle U, they were not able to find the equalizer and fell, 0-1, a bowed out of the WAC tournament. 

The loss broke up the Redhawks 8-game unbeaten streak and ended their season at 11-6-3, one game short of the conference title game. It was also only the second loss of the season for the Redhawks on their home field this season, making it three straight seasons that Seattle U has lost no more than two games at home during a year.
