Cameron Tyson Named WAC Player of the Week

ARLINGTON, Texas – Cameron Tyson was named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Nov. 13.

Tyson, a redshirt junior guard, enjoyed two elite performances for 3-0 Seattle U during the opening week of the 2022-23 season. Tyson averaged a phenomenal 33.5 points per game on 56.4 percent (22-of-39) shooting from the floor, which included a 55.6 percent (15-of-27) clip from beyond the arc. Tyson also chipped in 5.5 rebounds per contest over his first two starts. Tyson logged 35 points and eight rebounds for the Redhawks in an 85-71 win at UC San Diego on Nov. 7 and followed up that performance with 32 points and three boards in an 83-71 triumph at home against Portland State on Nov. 13.

This marks Tyson's second career WAC Player of the Week award, previously earning the honor in January 2022.

The 3-0 Redhawks resume on Saturday, Nov. 19 at University of Portland. Tip off from the Chiles Center is set for 5 p.m.
