PHOENIX, Ariz. - Seattle U volleyball began its final road trip of the season on Thursday, falling to Grand Canyon in three sets (16-25, 10-25, 14-25). The Western Athletic (WAC) matchup was played at the GCU Arena in Phoenix.
The Redhawks were never really able to find their footing in this match, facing a five point or larger deficit in each set.
Numerous Redhawks made their season debuts in this matchup, with five players setting new career-highs. Sophomore Selin Isik recorded six kills to go along with four digs in her SU debut, while freshman Marley Hardgrave logged three service aces, a new career-high. Sophomore Erin Goya occupied the setter role on the night, setting a new career high with 12 assists. Freshman Erin Fagan and Ellie Gordon both recorded their first career kill in this match as well as adding four digs each.
Seattle U will conclude the 2022 season on Saturday at California Baptist in Riverside, California.
