Cross Country to Compete Locally for NCAA West Regionals

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - Seattle U men's and women's cross country will compete near to home at the NCAA West Regionals Championship, hosted by the University of Washington, on November 11th. The women will race a 6k at 10:00 AM PST, while the men will race a 10k at 11:00 AM PST.

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - Seattle U men's and women's cross country will compete near to home at the NCAA West Regionals Championship, hosted by the University of Washington, on November 11th. The women will race a 6k at 10:00 AM PST, while the men will race a 10k at 11:00 AM PST.

The West Regionals Championship will consist of teams in the PAC-12, WCC, Mountain West, and other top ranked conferences in the country. Top nationally ranked teams in the nation such as Stanford, Washington, and Oregon will be competing as well.

The Redhawks are coming into the meet after solid performances at the WAC Championships. On the women's side, Azalea Groleau led the team, finishing the 6k race in a new personal best of 22:04. True freshman Caitlyn O'Neil was in close pursuit of Groleau, as she finished the race in 22:13, which was a 48 second personal best in the 6k.

On the men's side, Alex Franklin was the frontrunner for the Redhawks, running a third straight personal best, as he completed the 8k race in 24:52. Gus Harquail broke the 25 minute barrier for the first time in the race, as he would clock in a time of 24:58, and would run a new personal best by 16 seconds.
