ARLINGTON - Seattle U women's soccer was well represented in the Western Athletic Conference postseason awards, with six different Redhawks receiving honors. U'i Kaaihue was named Freshman of the Year while the Redhawks had three representatives each in First and Second Team All-WAC.

Along with being named the Freshman of the Year, Kaaihue was also named to the First Team and All-Freshman Team as well. The freshman from Maui burst onto the scene in her first season with the Redhawks, tying for the team lead in goals, with seven, while also dishing out three assists.

Michele Adam and Jessica Berlin joined Kaaihue as First Team selections. This is the second time Adam has been named to the First Team, being selected in the 2020 season, while this is the first time Berlin has been named to the team. The two helped the Redhawks have one of the best defenses in the WAC, recording 10 shutouts.

Another freshman standout was Caroline Penner, who was named to Second Team All-WAC and to the All-Freshman Team. She scored three goals and helped assist on another three in her inaugural campaign. Joining her on the Second Team are Kait Raffensperger and Kaylee Coatney. Raffensperger, another key member of the defense, started in 16 of her 17 appearances this season. Coatney tied Kaaihue in goals scored in 2022, adding in two assists as well.

The Redhawks will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 4, for the second round of the WAC tournament. They await the winner of New Mexico State and California Baptist in round one of the tournament.
