Redhawks Close EWU Hidden Dual with 5-2 Team Win Over Montana

CHENEY, Wash. - On the last day of the EWU Hidden Dual, Seattle U women's tennis finished their successful trip to Cheney, Washington by defeating Montana 5:2.

CHENEY, Wash. - On the last day of the EWU Hidden Dual, Seattle U women's tennis finished their successful trip to Cheney, Washington by defeating Montana 5-2. 

"We had a very solid weekend competing at EWU" said Head Coach Kristina Hollander. "We had first time wins against Idaho, Montana, and EWU, which is a great accomplishment for our team. I am proud of my players and the way they fought through the whole tournament." 

In singles play against Montana, Liliya Dimova, Elena Kraleva and Marija Elenova claimed victories in their matches. Dimova (6:3, 6:1) defeated Montana's Rosie Stark. Dimova had a very impressive tournament run, picking up wins in doubles versus EWU and Montana, singles against EWU and Idaho.  

Kraleva (6:2, 6:3) defeated Montana's Goheen in singles. Kraleva also had a great tournament run, as she won her doubles matchups against Eastern and Montana, and her singles matchups against EWU and Idaho in the tournament. 

Finally, Marija Elenova (4:6, 6:2, 6:3) won her matchup against Aili Hietala. This was Elenova's first tournament with the Redhawks, and she had a great tournament run, scoring wins against Montana in doubles and Idaho in singles. 

The next time the Redhawks will compete will be at the ITA Fall Regional tournament on October 14-20 in Palo Alto, California.
