SEATTLE - Men's soccer fell to Grand Canyon, 1-4, Friday night at Championship Field. Despite scoring the opening goal, the Redhawks would concede the following four of the match as they dropped their home finale.
It was freshman Yeider Zuluaga who quickly put the Redhawks in front. He received a cross from Mo Mohamed in the 3rd minute that he redirected to the back of the net. It was the second goal of the season for Zuluaga and the third assist of the year for Mohamed.
Grand Canyon would not take long to respond, equalizing the match seven minutes later. The 1-1 scoreline would hold into the halftime break, before the Lopes would find the back of the net three more times in the second half to snag the victory.
The loss dropped the Redhawks to 5-8-1 on the season and 4-3 in conference play. They will close out the regular season with a pair of road matches, starting with a battle with Air Force on Sunday, Oct.30. Kickoff from Colorado is scheduled for noon PT.
