DENVER - Following a brace vs Utah Tech, Richard Bedats has been named the TicketSmarter Offensive Player of the Week in the Western Athletic Conference.
Not only did Bedats have a brace, but also the game winner in the match vs the Trailblazers. After trailing heading into the break, the grad student from Slovakia scored two late second half goals to lift Seattle U to the come from behind victory. They were his first two goals of the season and of his career with the Redhawks.
"I am really thrilled for Richard, he's worked really hard this year," said head coach Pete Fewing. "He has been coming off the bench and has been getting more playing time, it's a good story of a guy who never quits."
Bedats and the Redhawks will be back in action this weekend when they host a pair of matches at Championship Field, starting with a showdown with Utah Valley on Friday at 7 pm PT. They will then have a Sunday matinee with California Baptist at 1 pm PT.
