DENVER - Michele Adam has been named the TicketSmarter WAC Defensive Player of the Week (10/10-10/16). Adam helped lead a back line that pitched a shutout over UTRGV and completed a perfect 2-0 week.
"Michele has had an outstanding career here at Seattle U," said head coach Julie Woodward. "Unfortunately, as a defender, I feel like many times her strengths are overlooked. She is solid, dependable, a great defender, possess a high soccer IQ and just is an overall great leader and captain of this team."
Not only was Adam a key component in the Redhawks shutout over the Vaqueros, she was also involved in the attack, picking up an assist in the 5-0 win. Adam joins Kait Raffensperger and U'i Kaaihue as Redhawks to win the weekly honor this season.
Adam and the Redhawks resume conference play with a pair of matches in Texas, starting with a battle vs Tarleton State on Friday, Oct. 2, at 4 pm PT. That will be followed with a matchup with Abilene Christian the following Sunday at 10 am PT.
